Install Eclipse IDE for Java Programming
Eclipse IDE for Java Programming is a good choice too. Similar to Netbeans IDE, it also supports varieties of programming languages for programmers. Some of the popular languages it supports are Perl, Python, PHP, C, C++, Fortran, Cobol, Ada and Ruby. The Eclipse IDE has many releases over the years. Its evolution started way back in 2004, when the eclipse 3.0 was released. Since then, the eclipse organization began releasing new Platform Version every year.
There is one thing that is interesting in every releases, Eclipse Org started naming their releases in 2006 upon the release of Eclipse 3.2, which was called as the Calisto projects. In 2007, they called the 3.3 version as the Europa Projects, 3.4 as Ganymede Projects, 3.5 as Galileo Projects, 3.6 as Helios Projects, 3.7 as Indigo Projects, and the latest Version of Eclipse released in June 2012 was called as the Juno Projects. The next version of eclipse, which is expected to be released this coming June 2013, was already named as the Luna Projects. The names are all really interesting! It is just a wonder on how they picked names on their every release! Where they based it on? Well, who knows!

Downloading Eclipse IDE and Java Virtual Machine
Again, similar to Netbeans IDE, Eclipse IDE also needs Java Virtual Machine or JVM for Java Programming. JVM includes Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and Java Development Kit (JDK). Either of this 2 must be installed first before the eclipse IDE. But if Eclipse IDE is intended for Java Development Projects, the JVM to be installed must be the JDK. You can download the latest JDK 7 here on this link. You can also grab the installer for JDK 6 here, which is more compatible with the Eclipse 4.2 (Juno Projects) Platform Version. You can download the Eclipse Juno Packages here, just choose the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, then you can choose a download link depend on what OS you have. It is available for both 32 bit and 64 bit operating Systems of Windows, Linux and Mac (Cocoa).
Steps to have an Eclipse IDE on your PC
1. Download and Install the JDK 6 on the link above.
2. Download and Install Eclipse 4.2 on the same drive where you installed the JDK. Do also what you did on installing the JDK.
3. Then after that you are done! Open the Eclipse Application and begin your Java Programming.
